A hello hug's a fond embrace
we share in what's a moment's grace.
We signal that a friendship beckons,
with arms in invitation, flared.

For things that long or short endure,
the science says we must ensure
to track with units we can measure—
Even what's a moment's pleasure.

So ev'ry meet 'tween fleeting greeters,
each embrace for a moment shared,
is logged in units of Newton-seconds
times area, in meters squared.
